Andrew Baker

Andrew studied music theatre at WAAPA and received the Hal Leonard Award for making an outstanding contribution to the course. While at WAAPA, Andrew performed in productions of WEST SIDE STORY, HELLO AGAIN (the Writer), OKLAHOMA! (Cord Elam), BLOOD BROTHERS (Edward Lyons) and Sondheim's SWEENEY TODD (Beadle Bamford). In his first year, Andrew was selected as a soloist at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre dedication with Hugh Jackman. Andrew's work prior to WAAPA includes roles in Perth productions of LES MISERABLES, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Peter), GREASE (Kenickie) and RENT.
Professionally, Andrew has sung in the WA Opera productions of NOSTRADAMUS and Wagner's GOTTERDAMERUNG and for Peach Productions in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN at His Majesty's Theatre.
Andrew is an accomplished MC and has worked for organisations such as Australia Post, the Law Society of Western Australia and is currently hosting for Quizmeisters Trivia in Melbourne. A qualified lawyer, in 2005 Andrew won the national Golden Gavel championship held in Brisbane, a comedy competition for young lawyers.
