Andrew currently holds the position of Head of Brass at Westbourne Grammar School. He also works as a freelance trombone player with many of Melbourne’s prominent cover bands and big bands, including the B# Big Band, Briefcase Full Of Blues, the 13-piece blues extravaganza Big & Horny and the roving music comedy group Wacky.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Music Degree (Melbourne University) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Monash University). Having studied conducting under the late Robert Rosen, he has gained extensive experience in musical theatre over the past 12 years as a Music Director, Conductor and Repetiteur. Highlights include Chess (1997) and Company (1999), both for CLOC Musical Theatre, for which he received Victorian Music Theatre Guild Awards for Best Musical Direction.

Most recently in 2006, he was Musical Director for Stella Entertainment’s production of RENT at the National Theatre followed by I Sing with Creative Melbourne at Chapel Off Chapel. Other musical direction credits include A Chorus Line, Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance and Pippin for CLOC, as well as Westside Story, Me and My Girl and Jesus Christ Superstar for Whitehorse Musical Theatre and Little Shop Of Horrors. He has recently backed artists such as Kate Ceberano, Glenn Shorrock and Joe Camilleri.
