Lara completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at Hayman Theatre, Curtin University (Western Australia) in 2004. There she had principal roles in many productions including COSI, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, AWAY, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, and OLD MOTHER HUBBARD. Other performing credits in WA include THE ROSE AND THE RING: UK and Canada Tour (which included a season at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden) THE MIKADO, and RISKY LUNAR LOVE.
In Melbourne she performed with Melbourne Opera in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, before heading off to Ballarat to gain her Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre at the University of Ballarat Arts Academy. While there Lara enjoyed roles in Peter Pinne's A BUNCH OF RATBAGS, GODSPELL, KISS ME KATE, ANYTHING GOES, BATBOY and also devised her own Cabaret, MASKS. Since graduating in 2007 Lara directed and co-devised the promotional musical WHAT WILL YOU BE AT UB (2008 and 2009) and Assistant Directed PARADE for the Ballarat Arts Academy. Lara also enjoyed working with the Production Company in their 2008 production of DAMN YANKEES, where she also performed two performances as a principal understudy.
Lara has also performed in children's shows at The Tivoli, does regular corporate cabaret and singing work, and is living and loving life in Melbourne.
