Sophie is an accomplished
classical pianist (L.Mus.A) and violinist (A.Mus.A) and has performed in Australia
and overseas before moving into Music Theatre performing and Music Directing.
Sophie has a Bachelor of Music Performance (Voice) from the VCA and completed
the National Theatre's Music Theatre course. Her theatre performance
credits include SONG AND DANCE (Emma), FAME (Serena), INTO THE WOODS (Little Red
Riding Hood), THE WILD PARTY (Kate) and SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. Sophie
received a Guild nomination for her role as Catherine in Pippin (CLOC) and last
year performed in BLOOD BROTHERS (CLOC).
Sophie has toured Europe and the USA as a violinist, vocalist and solo pianist with various groups including the Chamber Strings of Melbourne and the Australian Girls' Choir and has attended Master Classes in piano and violin in Melbourne, Sydney, Hawaii and Wisconsin.
Recently Sophie received a Green Room nomination for her work as Musical Director for MARY BRYANT (Magnormos) and last year Musically Directed SUDDENLY SINGLE, a new Australian piece as part of Magnormos' OZMADE MUSICALS at the Athenaeum Theatre.
Sophie teaches voice at Carey Baptist Grammar and is Director of Senior Choirs.
