Wendy made her first professional appearance at the age of nine and then
performed regularly with J.C. Williamson’s combining this with weekly television
performances.
At 16 she became a professional vocalist, signing with
Mushroom Records in 1979 when she formed
Wendy and the Rocketts. Her singing career has also embraced theatre
performances such as Bad Boy Johnny, The Magic Show, The Sentimental Bloke,
What’s Goin’ On, I Only Wanna Be With You – The Dusty Springfield Story (in
Australia and the U.K.), Two Up with Glen Shorrock, and the acclaimed all
girl show Girls Girls Girls!
Wendy’s TV credits include the role of Trixie Tucker in Neighbours
and episodes of Blue Heelers and Hallifax F.P. She also appeared
in Terence O’Connell’s short film You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me.
In 2006, Wendy performed in the World Premiere of Minefields and
Miniskirts at the Malthouse Theatre, also undertaking an Australian tour of
the production. She more recently toured throughout Australia with the
Countdown Spectacular.
