Everything's F***ed

How do you find something worth believing in, in a world where Everything’s F***ed? Jack, Red, Belle and Adam share a house under the flight path in an Australian city somewhere. Jack climbs the corporate beanstalk, while his partner Red is lost in work, faith and life. Belle, half awake, takes sex calls while watching TV and Adam lives more in his computer than in the real world. Set against the life changing events of 9/11, Everything’s F***ed shows how faith, love, and resilience get us through the day and on with our lives as the world falls down around us. Using a contemporary beatdriven soundtrack, Everything’s F***ed presents an instantly recognisable slice of modern life.
Sean Peter’s new musical is the most recent addition to a long tradition of new Australian musicals coming from Adelaide, the birthplace of the Australian musical. Since the first Australian musical, FFF in 1920, and the musicals of Fewster and King, Adelaide has produced innovative musical theatre. The Adelaide Festival Centre who facilitated the development of musicals by Nick Enright, Dennis Watkins, Chris Harriott and many others, produced the first workshop of Everything’s F***ed and later, the full production. Though little more than a staged reading, the show sold out, creating a rapturous response amongst audiences and critics alike. Mounted as a full production in 2007, the work received numerous writing and performance awards including the 2008 AWGIE for Music Theatre. The Original Cast Recording has been released to international praise, and is selling though the show’s website www.efthemusical.com. In early 2008, Everything’s F***ed was picked up by UK producer, Tony Green, and was presented in workshop at London’s Actors Centre with a cast including Australia’s Chelsea Plumley. Everything’s F***ed is currently under further development for a forthcoming UK and US production..
