The musical drama NOSTRADAMUS was
originally written by the Western Australian team of Ziggy de Voight and Jackson
B Sutcliffe as a major work for the Opera / Concert stage and orchestrated for a
symphonic orchestra by David Stanhope. This version premiered at the Perth
Concert Hall on 29th June 2002 by the Western Australian Opera and WA Symphony
Orchestra. A group of industry professionals lead by Walter van Nieuwkuyk and
Roger Hodgman were then engaged by the Eastman Group to adapt this "Grand Scale
Work" to that of a music theatre version for the commercial stage. The music
theatre version was subsequently workshopped and presented to an invited
audience at Melbourne Theatre Company in 2006.
