Water Into Wine

Music and lyrics by Craig Christie

Drawn from the true stories of women in the Sunraysia district of Victoria, Australia, this musical drama explores the hopes and aspirations of farming families and their ongoing relationship with the Murray River.  Many families were transported by their menfolk who dreamed of dragging crops out of the harsh landscape.  The stories are spread over generations and are presented as a series of snapshots rather than as a narrative, each short story being augmented by song.

Water Into Wine was produced by the Magnormos Music Theatre Readings Program in October 2004.
