To celebrate the 80th birthday of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim, Magnormos presented A SONDHEIM TRIPTYCH from September 20th, three Sondheim musicals on three consecutive Mondays performed in partnership with Melbourne Recital Centre.

Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as the most influential writer in Broadway history, with major works including WEST SIDE STORY, GYPSY, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, COMPANY, SWEENEY TODD, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and INTO THE WOODS.

The works were presented in a 'concert staging', book in hand presentations of both the songs and the script, with direction and a minimalist production design.
